Pick any harness or model per thread. When you start a new thread, choose the harness and the model it runs — starting with Anthropic and OpenAI models, with more on the way.
Set a default for each Space. Every Space can have its own default harness and model. Give Engineering a heavyweight coding setup and Support a fast, efficient one — new threads in each Space start with the right configuration automatically.
Choose models for automations. Select the harness and model each automation runs on, so recurring reports and monitoring use an efficient model while high-stakes work gets a more capable one. It's the simplest way to manage your automation costs.
Tune reasoning level and speed. Everywhere you pick a model — threads, Spaces, and automations — you can also set the reasoning level and speed, trading depth for responsiveness depending on the task.
A shared computer for every department. Create one Space for Sales, Support, Engineering, Marketing, or another durable team. Each Space runs Claude or Codex with that department's shared tools and context. Existing AIs were automatically converted into Spaces with their setup preserved.
Channels keep things organized. Create channels for topics, projects, and workflows without reconnecting tools, copying skills, or rebuilding context.
A shared library. Every Space has its own library of skills, dashboards, and documents. Build a skill once and every conversation in the Space can use it. Dashboards and docs live right next to the work they describe.
Connections scoped to the Space. Add your CRM to Sales and your help desk to Support. AI in each Space gets the tools it needs and nothing more.
Built-in access. Public and private Spaces control who can join the work. Private threads and item-level sharing can narrow or extend access when needed.
Automations attached to channels. Send recurring reports, triage, and monitoring to the channel where the output belongs.
Merge Spaces. Open Space settings to merge an existing Space into another one, moving its conversations into a new channel or directly into the destination threads. Learn more about Merge Spaces
Context that carries forward. Type generates memories from how you use it and applies them automatically. Important context from past work can help with the next conversation.
Two levels of context. Space memory captures how work happens in one area. Workspace memory holds context that matters across the organization.
See what's been remembered. Open Settings to browse memory for the workspace and each Space.
Collaborative pages. People and AI can create and edit documents together in real time. Live presence shows who is viewing or editing.
Version history. Every change records which conversation produced it. Trace any edit back to the thread and context behind it.
Import from anywhere. Import directly from Google Docs or Notion without exporting first. Upload .docx or .md files and convert them to editable documents. Notion zip exports import in bulk.
Share publicly. Set access to "anyone with the link" for public documents with authenticated preview and download.
Build real tools, not throwaway demos. AI can build interactive web apps with persistent data that syncs across your team. Ask for a tracker, dashboard, calculator, or internal tool and keep using it after the conversation ends.
Shared live data. Every app has a built-in database. Your team sees the same data in real time, and AI can update it from a conversation.
Share with anyone. Set any app to "anyone with the link" and share it publicly. Anonymous visitors can use the app fully, including reading and writing data.
Everything your team has made. Browse apps and files from the Library in your sidebar. Apps get their own tab. Files holds documents, PDFs, and uploads.
Upload anything. Add files up to 1GB. PDFs open in a full viewer with text-selection comments. Other files get a preview or download card.
CLI support. The Type CLI supports documents list, push, pull, and sync. Pipe content from stdin, set visibility with --public, and get share URLs back.
Flexible access. Share an app or document with specific people, private Spaces, the workspace, or anyone with the link.
Share when you're ready. Keep access narrow for internal work. Turn on a public link when you need external review, and revoke it at any time.
Everything stays in Type. Data lives in your workspace, not a third-party service. Agents work within your existing permissions. No new credentials, no separate admin console.
Type CLI. The Type CLI is available to everyone. Connect local Claude and Codex sessions and skills to Type. Install it from Settings > Command line in the Type Desktop app. Learn more about Type CLI
Push skills to your team. Take skills you've built on your computer and push them up so your whole team can use them via Type. No copy-pasting or rebuilding from scratch.
Bring local sessions into Type. Start in Claude, Codex, or another terminal tool, then push the session into a Space so your team can continue it together.
Mention a Space via user groups. Use a Slack user group to route an @mention to AI in the right Space. No per-person routing is needed. Reconnect your Slack integration in Settings to get these updates; user groups may need to be enabled for your organization first. Learn more about Mention a Space via user groups
Sync user groups from Slack settings. Use Sync user groups to create or refresh a handle for each connected Space. Your team can then mention that handle directly in Slack.
Message your Sidekick in Slack DMs. Your personal Sidekick is now available as a native Slack Assistant. Open a DM with it directly inside Slack and it responds just like it does in Type, with full context, skills, and memory. Delegate mid-day tasks or get quick answers without switching apps.
Upload .skill Claude files. Upload .skill files directly, using the same format as Claude Code and Claude Desktop. Publish a local skill to your Spaces without rebuilding it in the UI.
Transfer skill ownership. Skill owners can now hand off a skill to another team member. Useful when someone changes roles or when a skill needs a new home as the org grows. Nothing goes orphaned.
Skills usage metrics. Each skill now shows a 30-day usage chart, top users, and run history. See at a glance which skills your team relies on most and who is using them.
Raindrop is now a native integration. Connect Raindrop from Settings and your agent can start reading and managing your bookmarks immediately. No custom API setup needed.
OneDrive file uploads from agents. Agents that generate files, reports, exports, processed documents, can now upload them directly into your OneDrive. Previously, file tools only worked with files already inside Type.
Expanded Mermaid view. Mermaid diagrams now open in a full-screen view when you click them. Large flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and ER diagrams finally have room to breathe.
Smarter credits handling. When your Claude or Codex credits run out, Type now surfaces a one-click prompt to switch to Type-managed compute so work doesn't get interrupted while you top up.
Integration polish. Deleting an integration now requires a confirmation step before it goes through. Native integrations that drop their connection surface a clear reconnect state so nothing fails silently.
Org-wide skills. Type now has a shared skills library for your whole organization. Publish a skill once, then add it to any Space.
One source of truth with version control. Skills have an owner and a version history. Any changes made by a coworker create a change request that the owner must approve before it takes effect, so your organization's skills stay accurate and consistent.
Organize with skillsets. Group skills for common workflows like paid marketing and CRM management. We even published a Google and Meta Ads skillset you can add to a Space. Learn more about Organize with skillsets
Keep track of everything you're working on. The sidebar now shows your most recently updated conversations across Spaces. Work on multiple things in parallel and see what is waiting on you or actively running.
Agents got more capable in Slack. When your agent is working inside a Slack thread, it now reads the prior conversation for context before replying. Mid-task, it can pause and ask you a question using an interactive modal directly in Slack.
Connect seven new services natively. Microsoft 365 (Outlook and OneDrive), LinkedIn, Twitter, Sentry, HubSpot, Google BigQuery, and Intelligems are all now available as first-party integrations with OAuth. Connect from Settings and your agent can start using them right away. Snowflake, Affinity, and Neon are also available as one-click presets in the Custom API connector.
Mermaid diagrams render inline. Drop a fenced mermaid block into any message and it renders as a live diagram: flowcharts, sequence diagrams, ER diagrams, and more. No copy-paste into an external tool.
Inbox and admin polish. Select multiple Inbox items and archive them in one shot. Workspace admins can now promote other members from the Members page. Space Details shows which engine powers its AI.
Sidebar filter persistence. The unread, closed, and private thread filters in the sidebar now remember your preference across page loads so you are not reconfiguring them on every visit. The composer now rests in a compact state and expands when you start typing, with skills still one click away.
Supercharged Slack. Your agent can now search across your entire Slack workspace via MCP, send images back into Slack, and reply with a more native experience that keeps follow-ups in the right place. Connecting and onboarding are smoother too: select the channels you want and your agent starts reading from them immediately. Learn more about Supercharged Slack
Custom APIs. Connect any third-party service by entering an API key or OAuth 2 credentials. Once connected, your agent can make authenticated requests to that service's endpoints. No code or middleware required. Learn more about Custom APIs
Google Shared Drive. Agents can now access files stored in Shared Drives, not just your personal My Drive. Select which Shared Drives to connect and agents can read and reference those docs.
Desktop and browser control. Agents can now operate a full desktop environment: open apps, click through UIs, fill out forms, and navigate websites. You can turn on recording to get a video of exactly what the agent did.
Sub-agents. An agent can now spin up additional agents to handle parts of a task in parallel. Instead of completing steps one-by-one, it delegates chunks of work to sub-agents that run simultaneously and report back.
File uploads and attachments. Agents can send files directly into your conversation (images, CSVs, PDFs, etc.) and receive files you attach to your messages. No external file-sharing needed.
Codex as a harness. Codex is now available as an agent harness in Type. Choose it for a Space to run Codex's tooling directly in your workspace.
Bring your own Codex billing. If you already have Codex access, connect it to use your own Codex billing while running agents from Type.
Scripts and reference files. You can attach executable scripts and reference documents directly to a skill. Edit them in place. This gives you full control over what a skill knows and what it can run. Learn more about Scripts and reference files
