Short answer

Claude Enterprise is Anthropic's plan for organizations deploying Claude at scale. One seat gives each employee Claude on web, desktop, and mobile, Claude Code, and Cowork. On top of the Team plan's SSO, it adds SCIM, role-based access, audit logs, a Compliance API, custom data retention, and spend limits for the organization and each user. Seats are $20 a month, billed annually with a 20-seat minimum, and all usage is billed separately at API rates.

If you already have it, you don't need another platform for each person's own work with Claude. You might need one for work a team shares. Anthropic says Claude Code's scheduled tasks belong to the individual account that created them and aren't shared with teammates, and what they do appears as that person. Codex isn't part of Claude Enterprise: it comes with ChatGPT Business and Enterprise plans, with their own admin console.

type.com is a managed agent platform for that shared work. A team's automations live in a Space, start from schedules, Slack, GitHub, Linear, webhooks, email, or RSS, and run on Claude or Codex with the Space's connections, and every run lands in a thread the team can read. Admins can reassign an automation's owner when someone leaves. type.com doesn't offer SAML SSO or SCIM yet, and its SOC 2 audit is planned to begin November 16, 2026, so it sits next to Claude Enterprise rather than replacing its identity and compliance controls.

What decides it

The three differences that decide it

Both run Claude for you with nothing to host. These are the choices around that.

Who the work belongs to

type.com

A team. Automations, threads, and connections belong to a Space its members share, and an admin can reassign an owner.

Claude Enterprise

Each employee. Chats, Cowork tasks, and Claude Code scheduled tasks start in one person's account, and scheduled tasks act as that person.

Which agents run

type.com

Claude and Codex, chosen for each Space, with the same connections and run history.

Claude Enterprise

Claude. Codex needs a separate ChatGPT Business or Enterprise plan and its own admin console.

Identity and compliance

type.com

Spaces, Full or Read-only connections, admin analytics, and CASA Tier 2. No SAML SSO or SCIM yet; SOC 2 audit starts November 16, 2026.

Claude Enterprise

SSO, SCIM, role-based access, audit logs, a Compliance API, and custom data retention.

What it is

What does Claude Enterprise include?

Anthropic describes Claude Enterprise as its complete offering for organizations deploying Claude at scale. One seat covers Chat, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Claude Design, and Claude in tools such as Microsoft 365 and Chrome. Connectors bring in company data, and admins approve which connectors are available and set per-tool permissions.

For IT and security teams, it adds SSO and domain capture, SCIM and JIT provisioning, role-based access, audit logs, a Compliance API and an Analytics API, OpenTelemetry, custom data retention, customer-managed encryption keys, US-only inference, IP allowlisting, and a HIPAA-ready configuration. The seat fee covers access only. All usage across Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork is billed at API rates, there are no seat-level usage limits, and admins can set spend limits for the organization and each user.

Scheduled work

Can Claude Enterprise run agents on a schedule?

Yes, in two ways. Cowork scheduled tasks run a saved prompt hourly, daily, weekly, on weekdays, or on demand, with each run as its own Cowork session. They run remotely in Anthropic's cloud unless they need local files or apps. Claude Code cloud scheduled tasks, formerly routines and still in research preview, start from a schedule, an API call, or a GitHub event and work in the repositories and connectors you choose.

Both start in one person's account. Anthropic's documentation says Claude Code scheduled tasks belong to the individual account that created them, aren't shared with teammates, count against that account's usage, and act as that person in GitHub, Slack, and other connected tools. That fits personal work well. It is a gap when a task is a team's job, such as a weekly pipeline review or a support triage, that should keep running when its creator changes roles.

In type.com, a team's automation lives in its Space. It starts from a schedule, a Slack message, a GitHub or Linear event, a webhook, an email, or an RSS item, every run makes a thread the Space can read and continue, and an admin can reassign the owner.

Codex

What about teams that also use Codex?

Codex comes with ChatGPT plans. ChatGPT Business adds a workspace with admin controls, SAML SSO, and MFA, and ChatGPT Enterprise adds SCIM, role-based access, encryption key management, and audit logs and usage monitoring through OpenAI's Compliance API. A company that runs both Claude and Codex manages two vendors' consoles, policies, and bills.

type.com runs Claude and Codex as managed agents in the same Spaces. A team picks the agent for each Space, both use the Space's connections, and admins see every Space's automations, failures, and AI cost in one Analytics view. People can connect their own Claude or ChatGPT subscription so eligible requests run through it.

Cost

What does each cost?

Claude Enterprise is $20 per seat per month, billed annually, with a minimum of 20 seats for self-serve plans and 50 for sales-assisted plans. Usage is billed on top at API rates, so the total depends on how much each person uses Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork. Seats alone for 400 people come to $96,000 a year.

type.com self-serve plans cover 2 to 60 team members, from $50 to $750 a month, with AI usage metered at the model provider's API rates. Companies with more than 60 people use a custom contract. Requests that run on a person's connected Claude or ChatGPT subscription don't draw down the workspace allowance.

Where Claude Enterprise alone is enough

Claude Enterprise is a strong plan, and many companies won't need anything else. It is probably enough if:

  • Most AI work is each person's own: chats, documents, code in Claude Code, and delegated Cowork tasks.
  • Your security review requires SSO, SCIM, audit logs, a SOC 2 report, or a Compliance API for every AI tool. type.com doesn't offer SAML SSO or SCIM yet, and its SOC 2 audit starts November 16, 2026.
  • Your company runs Claude only, and scheduled tasks owned by individuals cover the recurring work.

FAQ

Questions people ask about type.com and Claude Enterprise

Do we need an AI agent platform if we already have Claude Enterprise?

Not for each person's own work with Claude. Claude Enterprise covers chat, Claude Code, Cowork, and scheduled tasks for every seat. A platform such as type.com helps when automations should belong to a team rather than one person's account, or when your teams also run Codex.

What do companies use on top of Claude Enterprise to run agents and automations?

Developers build on the Claude Platform, including Claude Managed Agents, or on cloud agent services such as Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Teams that want their automations run for them use a managed agent platform such as type.com, which runs Claude or Codex with built-in triggers, shared connections, and a thread for every run.

Can Claude Enterprise run agents on a schedule?

Yes. Cowork scheduled tasks run on a cadence in Anthropic's cloud, and Claude Code cloud scheduled tasks, in research preview, start from a schedule, an API call, or a GitHub event. Anthropic says Claude Code scheduled tasks belong to the individual account that created them and aren't shared with teammates.

Can we run Claude and Codex agents in one place?

In type.com, yes: Claude and Codex are both managed agents, set for each Space, with the same connections and run history. Claude Enterprise runs Claude, and Codex comes with ChatGPT Business and Enterprise plans, each with its own admin console.

Does type.com replace Claude Enterprise's admin controls?

No. type.com doesn't offer SAML SSO or SCIM on any plan yet, has no dedicated security audit log yet, and its SOC 2 audit is planned to begin November 16, 2026. It doesn't replace the Compliance API or audit logs Claude Enterprise provides for work in Claude. It adds Spaces, connections shared at Full or Read-only access, admin analytics for every Space's automations, and owner reassignment for shared work.

How does Claude Enterprise pricing compare with type.com?

Claude Enterprise is $20 per seat per month, billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum for self-serve plans, and all usage is billed on top at API rates. type.com self-serve plans cover 2 to 60 team members, from $50 to $750 a month with AI usage metered at provider rates, and larger companies use a custom contract.
