Included skills
- AEO Crawler Visibility MonitorCheck public pages daily as AI crawlers and search bots. Post regressions, save a baseline and send a Monday all-clear so hidden content gets a concrete fix.
- AEO Lost-Citation AlertCompare yesterday's AI answers with the prior week to find lost citations, competitor takeovers and wins. Get a daily action list, referral traffic and owner-only escalation.
- AEO Daily StandupTurn yesterday's AEO work into a daily priorities post. On Mondays, open a weekly thread with shipped work, citation changes and the oldest open actions.
- AEO Publish-to-Index PipelineCheck newly shipped pages each afternoon for crawler visibility, metadata, schema and discovery coverage. Report fixes; indexing submissions for owned sites are optional and off by default.
- Reddit AEO Engagement + Citation TrackingEach weekday, find up to three fresh Reddit discussions, draft helpful comments, and report which threads AI engines cite. The owner reviews and posts manually.
- Weekly AEO & SEO ReportEach Monday, combine AI-answer visibility, AI referrals and search performance into three tracked actions. DM the owner a draft and publish to the weekly thread after approval.
- AI Citation Target HuntEach Tuesday, rank new cited pages and fresh articles, verify existing listings, and post a 12-line action summary. Queue outreach for human review without contacting third parties.
- AEO Question-Panel RefreshEach Wednesday, propose up to six tracking-question changes from real buyer language, with quota math. DM only the configured owner and keep tracker configuration unchanged.
- AEO Comparison & Alternatives Page MonitorEvery Wednesday, compare AI-mentioned competitors with your comparison pages. Get a ranked gap table and two page outlines in a 12-line report.
- AEO Entity-Consistency AuditEvery Thursday, compare your pages and public profiles with canonical brand facts. Get exact fixes in a 12-line report and an owner-only DM for login-dependent changes.

--- name: answer-engine-optimization description: Eleven scheduled skills that measure how AI answer engines name and cite your company, alert you when that changes, and tell you exactly what to fix next. --- # Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Claude and Perplexity now answer the questions your buyers used to search for, and they name and cite only a handful of companies in each answer. This skillset runs AEO as a loop: **measure** which questions name and cite you, which pages engines cite instead, and whether crawlers can read your site; **alert** the morning anything moves, with the cause; and **act** on a short list of owned fixes (edit this page, publish that comparison, pitch this listicle, fix this profile), each with an owner and a link. Every post leads with "Do next", caps its length, and keeps the detail in one shared AEO master doc. type.com runs this exact system on its own site every day. ## The cadence | When | Skill | Loop | What it posts | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Daily 6:00am | [AEO Crawler Visibility Monitor](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-crawler-visibility-monitor) | Measure | Crawler regressions only (Monday all-clear) | | Daily 6:30am | [AEO Lost-Citation Alert](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-lost-citation-alert) | Alert | Lost names and citations, takeovers, wins, new sources | | Daily 7:00am | [AEO Daily Standup](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-daily-standup) | Act | Top 3 daily actions; Monday weekly priorities thread | | Daily 5:30pm | [AEO Publish-to-Index Pipeline](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-publish-to-index-pipeline) | Act | New content pages checked for crawlers, schema and sitemaps | | Weekdays 8:00am | [Reddit AEO Engagement and Citation Tracker](https://type.com/library/skills/reddit-aeo-engagement-tracker) | Act | 3 threads worth a reply, with drafts, and which threads engines cite | | Monday 8:00am | [Weekly AEO and SEO Report](https://type.com/library/skills/weekly-aeo-seo-report) | Measure | Next 3 actions, AI answers, AI referrals and search, after owner approval | | Tuesday 8:00am | [AI Citation Target Hunt](https://type.com/library/skills/ai-citation-target-hunt) | Act | New pages engines cite, ranked, queued for outreach | | Wednesday 9:00am | [AEO Question-Panel Refresh](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-question-panel-refresh) | Measure | Up to 6 tracked-question changes for the owner to approve | | Wednesday 10:00am | [AEO Comparison and Alternatives Page Monitor](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-comparison-page-monitor) | Act | Competitors engines name and the comparison pages you're missing | | Thursday 9:00am | [AEO Entity-Consistency Audit](https://type.com/library/skills/aeo-entity-consistency-audit) | Act | Conflicting descriptions of your company across profiles and listings | | First Tuesday monthly 10:00am | [Docs Answerability Pass](https://type.com/library/skills/docs-answerability-pass) | Act | Docs pages that should answer buyer questions and don't | Daily, weekday and weekly times are recommended defaults in your timezone; the monthly pass runs on the first Tuesday. The daily skills run in order: the crawler check and the citation alert finish before the standup reads them. ## How the skills share work - **The AEO master doc** holds everything Slack doesn't: the Alert log, the Action tracker, the Entity audit, the crawler baseline and the Reddit log. Each skill owns its own sections and creates them on first run if they're missing. - **The tracking registry** lists the questions you track, which engines and monitors they run on, and dates when the set changed, so alerts don't fire on a changed baseline. - **The citation targets list** and **the listings list** (your outreach queue) are filled by the citation hunt and the lost-citation alert's new sources. - The lost-citation alert feeds the standup, the weekly report, the citation hunt and the Reddit tracker. The weekly report's approved "Next 3 actions" become Action tracker rows that the standup works through. ## Before you start 1. Track a panel of buyer questions in an AI-answer tracker. The skills default to Promptwatch: connect it in type.com as a Custom API connection with your Promptwatch project API key. Any tracker that exposes answers per question and engine, and cited pages with counts, works. 2. Connect Slack for the report channel and DMs to one owner. Add Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and GitHub for the skills that use them. 3. Fill in the shared inputs once: `brand_name`, `site_url`, `docs_url`, `report_channel`, `owner`, `timezone`, and links to the master doc and tracking registry (or let the first run create them). 4. Install the skillset, then schedule each skill at its time above. Start with the crawler monitor and the lost-citation alert; add the weekly skills once those post cleanly. ## Safety Every skill is read-only on third parties. None of them sends email, submits forms, signs up for sites, or posts, comments or votes on Reddit or any social site; where a human step is needed, they draft it for the owner. They never change the AI-answer tracker's configuration. Their only routine writes are posts to the report channel, DMs to the one configured owner, and edits to their own sections of the shared docs. The publish-to-index skill defaults to reporting; it submits only your own URLs when you explicitly enable its indexing input. The internal Listings outreach runner sends emails and submits listings, so it is documented here as a human hand-off: the citation hunt queues targets in the listings list, and your team (or your own approved outreach process) contacts them. ## Start with "Set up the AEO skillset for example.com. Our report channel is #aeo and the owner is @me. Create the AEO master doc and tracking registry if they don't exist, then run the crawler monitor and the lost-citation alert once without posting so I can check the output."
