# Type > Type is a shared workspace where your entire team can collaborate with Claude or Codex using the subscriptions you already pay for. Type connects AI to the tools, knowledge, and data a company already uses. Work happens in shared Spaces, where coworkers can prompt together and keep connections, skills, memory, threads, automations, files, documents, and apps available to the team. Choose the interface that matches the task: - Use Type MCP when Claude or another supported MCP client needs hosted, OAuth-protected access to the Type workspace. Install it in Claude at https://type.com/mcp/install or configure the remote Streamable HTTP server at https://api.type.com/mcp. - Use the Type CLI for local Type App development, files, scripts, skills, documents, and session transfer from Claude or Codex. Install it with `curl -fsSL https://type.com/install.sh | sh`. - Use a connection when a Space needs approved access to an external app, API, data source, or hosted MCP server. Claude and Codex are the main harnesses for Spaces. A user-hosted OpenClaw runtime can power Sidekick; OpenClaw is not an option when creating a Space. The CLI still uses `agent` in resource names and flags such as `--agent`; that implementation target is a Space in current product language.
